DEFENDING champions Rayon Sports have refused to release striker Jerome Sina to join rivals AS Muhanga after the transfer window closed on September 30. Sina dumped Rayon Sports and went AWOL (Absent without official leave) mid last season to feature in DR Congolese league after being slapped with a one-month ban on grounds of indisciplinary grounds.

At the start of the 2013/14 Turbo King Football league season, Sina resurfaced claiming that his contract with Rayon Sports had expired and was on verge of joining AS Muhanga as a free agent.

However, Rayon Sports held onto him claiming that the player still has unfinished business with the Nyanza-based club.

The club Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya said, "Sina still has an unfinished business with our club. We can only let him go if any interested club is able to settle six months that he still had with Rayon Sports.”

Efforts to reach AS Muhanga chairman Celse Gasana proved futile as he failed to pick our calls. However, AS Muhanga coach Ali Bizumungu said that Sina’s issue is closely handled by Gasana.

Jakeshi signs two-year contract

Meanwhile, Rayon have sealed a two-year contract deal with former Uganda Express striker Frasson Jakeshi following the issuance of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) by Ugandan Football Federation (Fufa) and release letter by Express FC on September 30. Jaskeshi passed trials with Rayon Sports late last month before returning to Uganda to secure his release letter and ITC which was settled in the last hours of the transfer window.

The partnership of Kagere, Jakeshi and last season’s top scorer Amiss Cedric and second top scorer Salita Kambale is expected to be the most lethal striking force in the 2013/14 Turbo King league.
