Trade minister woos investors

Investors from Egypt and othe r parts of the world have been urged to take advantage of the emerging investment opportunities in Rwanda.

Investors from Egypt and othe r parts of the world have been urged to take advantage of the emerging investment opportunities in Rwanda.The remarks were made by the Minister for Trade and Industry, Francois Kanimba, on Wednesday while opening the fourth Egyptian Exhibition that is underway at Petit Stade in Remera."Our country has numerous emerging opportunities. Investors in the areas of industrial value addition for our agriculture and livestock produce, manufacturing, vocational training centres and services should take advantage,” Kanimba said. The expo, where dozens of Egyptian business operators are showcasing their products to the Rwandan market, will run until October 6.Kanimba also called on Rwandan business community to use the expo build partnerships with their Egyptian counterparts."Trade is a very key economic growth driver for our people,” he said.Learning environment  In his speech, the Egyptian ambassador to Rwanda, Khaled Abdel Rahman, commended  the Rwandan government for its commitment to promoting trade ties between the two countries. Rahman told Saturday Times that the exhibition is also a learning environment for the business community of Egypt and Rwanda."From this expo and other similar initiatives, we learn a lot and keep improving the quality of the products which is key to getting to another level in business as well as getting to regional and international level as far as standards are in concerned,” he said.He called on the public to visit the expo so as to learn and get the made-in-Egypt products.The items on display include home appliances like kitchenware, rugs and beddings, jewellery,  among others
