Of ladies and unkempt hair

I see her once in a while; mostly twice or thrice a month. But her appearance seems different every time. Nothing on her face changes, just her hair. I see her once in a while; mostly twice or thrice a month. But her appearance seems different every time. Nothing on her face changes, just her hair. Early in the month, which I assume is immediately after pay day; she has great hair extensions. But as days go by, her weave ceases to look like a hair extension and takes after a feathered creature.   She is pretty and at times her hair extensions seem to have an intention to enhance her looks.  But when she has had them for too long, they take distract from the initial course. When it’s been on her head for too long, it begins to have an unpleasant odour and no longer serves to enhance her beauty. When ladies wear weaves and artificial hair extensions, they do it with best of intentions. But at some point they get off track and let the extensions have a life of their own. When some ladies fail to realise when to change or take off the extensions, it turns out into a total mess. The wearer ends up walking with a smelly bush on her head.  People will subtly avoid you if your weave reeks of bad odour.  It can be hard for the wearer to detect a bad odour when it lingers too long, but passersby don’t easily get used to it. So ladies, sniff your hair once in a while to check your weave smells fresh. This beauty enhancing invention requires washing often, drying and oiling to keep it looking as it should. When it is deprived of those basic rights, passersby will point at a lady’s head and whisper to each other, "is that a bird perched on her head?”Unkempt dreadlocks are not only an eyesore, they can be scary too as they are inhabited by some crawling creatures. Dreadlocks should be easier to maintain (from one who previously had them). Once or twice a month of retouch should keep them looking presentable enough. Excuses of tough economic times do not hold water as the wearer has an option to chop them off and maintain cheaper hair. Washing them often, spraying them or oiling them goes a long way. While there is nothing wrong with being adventurous, there are certain hair colours that don’t belong on a lady’s head. Why would anyone want to have pink hair extensions?  You should use those pigments on your fingers and toenails instead. Though it is unfair we will judge you by the colour of your hair extensions. The argument against ladies wearing the extensions has already been lost, that ship has sailed and men have moved on. But is it too much to ask that the weaves and extensions be at least maintained?
