Sports Club Kiyovu are confident they have a good chance to win the Turbo National Football League next season.Gilbert ‘Yaounde’ Kanyankole’s side have not won the league title since 1993 but when asked if SC Kiyovu could find itself on top of the table next May, club secretary general Jean Marie Nsengiyumva roared: "Obviously."The team has made major changes ahead of the upcoming season. We have a new coach and several players whom we think will help the club to win the league title,” Kanyankole, previously with Burundi champions Vital’O, said."It may be difficult for some of the players to adapt and get used to each other so soon but they will blend with time; I believe SC Kiyovu will be a hard nut to crack this season,”"If we can manage to be consistent, I don’t see why we can’t win the title,” added Nsengiyumva. The league gets underway on Saturday, September 28.The old giants open their league quest against Musanze away at Ubworoherene Stadium in Musanze on Sunday. The Nyamirambo-based side has signed, among others, Ali Musa Sova, Yusuf ‘Rure’ Murekezi, Christian Mbirizi (all from Vital’O), Laudit Mavugo from AS Kigali, Blaise Itangiteka from Sec Academy, Didier Harerimana, La Jeunesse trio of Ali Kayambe, Yusuf Munyakayanza and Jimmy Kakure as well as goalie Evariste Mutuyimana from Police, all on two-year contracts. And this week SC Kiyovu expect to finalise contract negotiations for 18-year-old twin brothers Jean Marie Girukwishaka and Michel Girukwishaka.
