Germany envoy visits IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Emmanuel K. Gasana, yesterday received in his office, Peter Fahrenhotz, the German Ambassador to Rwanda.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Emmanuel K. Gasana, yesterday received in his office, Peter Fahrenhotz, the German Ambassador to Rwanda.

The visit aimed at strengthening the existing bilateral cooperation between Rwanda National Police and Germany. IGP Gasana expressed gratitude to the German government for its continued support to teh force in various fields.

The support is mainly in form of training, especially in criminal investigation, traffic and forensic science. Through GIZ, the German government also supported the construction of the Peace Support Training Centre in Gishari, Rwamagana District, which conducts peacekeeping pre-deployment training for local and regional police officers. The envoy pledged continued support to the force.
