Newly formed Rayon Sports volleyball club has signed former National University Volleyball Club head coach Fidele Nyirimana ‘Fidjo’ and his assistant Jean de Dieu Bagirishya ‘Castar, Saturday Sport has leant.The development was confirmed by the club’s chairman Erasme Ntazinda yesterday in a phone interview.The team’s executive committee also has vice chairman (technical) Antoine Sebalinda, a former national team right attacker, vice chairman in charge of the administration, Emmanuel Gashumba, a former player; Jose Uwimana will be the secretary general and John Kayijuka as the treasurer.Rayon Sport football club chairman Abdullah Murenzi, who is also the Mayor of Nyanza District, will be the honorary chairman of the volleyball club.The team will be registered for next season’s league campaign and Ntazinda says they are working hard to sign good players before the start of the season at the start of November."The first thing was to set up the executive committee; the second was to get the right coaching staff and third signing players.  We need to build a competitive and winning team, not a team to just be part of the league,” he told this paper yesterday.He added, "We have already started talking with some players whom I cannot mention right now but soon we will let everyone know about the team and the players.”Rayon Sports’ main rivals, APR FC, on top of football, have clubs in volleyball, basketball, athletics and handball leagues.
