Rwanda on course to becoming a knowledge-based economy

Editor,For any country to achieve rapid economic growth at least five factors must be given great attention: a visionary government system (with strong visionary leaders), running an industrial-based economy (more attention to the development of small and medium enterprises), infrastructural development (both social and economic), investment in telecommunication, and rural-based economy where rural communities are constantly encouraged to own development programmes.

Editor,For any country to achieve rapid economic growth at least five factors must be given great attention: a visionary government system (with strong visionary leaders), running an industrial-based economy (more attention to the development of small and medium enterprises), infrastructural development (both social and economic), investment in telecommunication, and rural-based economy where rural communities are constantly encouraged to own development programmes.Based on the above and many more factors that I haven’t mentioned here, one easily conclude that Rwanda is on track to becoming an African state development model just as there was the East Asian model revolving around Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.Kudos to the Government of Rwanda for keeping the momentum towards turning Rwanda into a knowledge-based economy.Richard Gasana, South KoreaReaction to the story, "Govt, Korea firm ink deal for high-tech joint venture”, (The New Times, September 19)
