The public voted. And the judges have passed the verdict.  Outstanding women will be awarded for their outstanding works. Among these, six female musicians will be recognised for their contribution to Rwanda’s growing music industry at the Diva Awards Afrika –Rwanda chapter on September 27 at Kigali Serena hotel..The six female musicians who received the most votes are Maria Yohana, Irene Gaby Kamanzi, Jeanne Ingabire Butera, also known as Knowles, Allion Buzindu, Aisha Uwimana, alias Ciney and Pacifique Oda Uzamberumwana, aka Paccy. Although the six came top, other women will also be recognised in different categories. "We shall also recognise women, who have indeed made remarkable contribution to society in different categories,” said Richard Kagwa Kalule, Chief Executive Officer Diva Awards Afrika. The categories will include; female athletes, humanitarian work, fashion and style, media, business, ICT, theatre and academia, among others. The awards are being organised by Diva Awards Afrika, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Culture.  Sponsors of the event include Kigali Serena hotel and ICPAR, among others.Diva Awards Afrika has for the last four years been recognising outstanding women in their respective social and economic fields in Uganda and Kenya.
