On Saturday night at an almost fully-packed BK Arena, basketball fans enjoyed a crucial game of the best of five playoff finals series as REG edged Patriots 79-70.

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club bounced back from last week’s game 1 defeat and beat rivals Patriots

Henry Mwinuka’s men led by shooting guard Cleveland Thomas Jr, power forward Axel Mpoyo and center Pitchou Manga looked supercharged to get a good result from the game that took place on Saturday evening, September 10, at the BK Arena.

Through the lenses ,The New Times\' photographer Dan Nsengiyumva captured the ups and downs of the game.

The Patriots won the first quarter 25-18 and the second one 18-17 to go into halftime with a ten-point lead of 43-35.

During the five minutes’ overtime, REG’s Filer and Thomas scored some three pointers in addition to more points from their counterparts to win the game 79:70.
