Eight nominated for best player award

Rwanda Football Federation through its technical commission has announced the eight players for the Best Player award for last season.

Rwanda Football Federation through its technical commission has announced the eight players for the Best Player award for last season.The winners will be announced on September 14 at Sports View Hotel. The nominees  include four males and four females.Voting started on Monday and ended on Wednesday at midnight before the technical commission picked the four players with the most votes in each category.The male finalists are; APR defensive midfielder Jean Baptist Mugiraneza, Rayon Sports forward Amiss Cedric, Musanze FC defender Mohamed Mpozembizi and Bugesera FC (second division) striker Michel Ndahinduka, who has since joined APR.The women’s category has; Jolie Mbarushimana (APR), forward Shadia Uwamahirwe and midfielder Anne Marie Ibangarye (both AS Kigali) and midfielder Alice Niyoyita (Kamonyi).The best were nominated by sports journalists, captains and coaches of first and second division clubs as well as the women football league club.Rayon Sports striker Labama Bokota Kamana won the first ever best male player award in 2007 and Police’s Meddie Kagere was voted the best player for 2010/2011 season.
