Mukura sign defender Karekezi from Atletico

Mukura Victory Sport have completed the signing of Rwandan central defender Etienne Karekezi from Burundian club Atletico on a two-year deal.

Mukura Victory Sport have completed the signing of Rwandan central defender Etienne Karekezi from Burundian club Atletico on a two-year deal.According to Mukura Secretary General Olivier Mulindahabi, the 25-year-old, who was a transfer target for league championships Rayon Sport last season signed for the Southern Province-based side on Thursday."We are happy to have a player like Karekezi; he is the type of player, who will help the team to reach far in this season. We are delighted because we needed a central defender of his calibre,” Mulindahabi said.Last week, the team signed defender Valentin Nkurunziza from second division side National University of Rwanda.The Yellow and Black outfit has also extended the contract of Ugandan midfielder Robert Segawa for another one season.The Huye-based side had already signed goalie Regis Shyaka from Ruhango, defender Ombeni Mutekuruwa from La Jeunnesse, midfielder Emmanuel Hakizimana from Musanze FC, striker Nshuti Idesbar and midfielder Fidel Mutwewingabo from Marines.Other new singings include; Burundian duo of Claude Nahimana and Hussein Kiiza from Atletico, Djarudi Ntakirutimana from Musanze FC, Nowa Habimana from second division side Bugesera FC and Protogene Rukundo from Etincelles.
