Team Rwanda depart for Swiss Mt. bike race

Team Rwanda riders Abraham Ruhumuriza and Nathan Byukusenge have departed for Swiss ahead of this year’s Swiss Mountain Bike race, which is scheduled for September 2-8.

Team Rwanda riders Abraham Ruhumuriza and Nathan Byukusenge have departed for Swiss ahead of this year’s Swiss Mountain Bike race, which is scheduled for September 2-8.The pair left the country on Friday morning ahead of the event known as Swiss Epic international mountain bike race. The race is expected to attract more than 100 riders from different parts of the country.Meanwhile Bonaventure Uwizeyimana, riding for his South Africa-based World Cycling Centre Satellite Africa team, finished in 42nd position out of 106 riders on the first day (160 km) of Tour do Rio 2013, which started on Thursday.In a related development, the U-23 Team Rwanda will leave the country on September 3 ahead of making their debut in the Francophone Games, which will be held in Nice France. The cycling competition will cover a total of 140 kilometres on September 8.The team compromises six riders namely; Valens Ndayisenga, Patrick Byukusenge, Rudahunga Emmanuel, Jean Bosco Nsengimana, Emille Bintunimana and South Africa-based Janvier Hadi, who will join the team in Nice.
