THE national under-20 Amavubi side departs Tuesday afternoon to Nice in France for further training ahead of the forthcoming Francophone Games, scheduled for September 6–15.Speaking to Times Sport yesterday, head coach Richard Tardy said, "The team has intentions of improving in its playing style and qualifying for the semi-finals.”"In our group we will face Congo-Brazzaville and Canada who were both with us in Mexico during the 2011 World U-17 Cup finals, as well as France who obviously have home advantage and were runner-up in the European championship; nonetheless I am confident the boys will deliver,” added the Frenchman. The Rwandan team will be based at Antibe Centre Sportive for the next two weeks and will play three build-up matches against Glasse (August 24) and Rocheville (August 27) and Morocco U-20 national team on September 2.Tardy jets out with 18 home-based players, while the two professional players; Belgium-based defender Jean Marie Rusingizandekwe [Marines] and Bon Fils Kabanda [Nancy-France], are set to link up with the team in Nice. The Junior Wasps will be making their debut in the football competition in Group D, along with the hosts France, Congo Brazzaville and Canada.
