KDF (Ken) vs UPDF (Uga)

APR Handball Club (men), representing Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) in the ongoing East Africa Military Games in Nairobi, finished last after losing all their matches.

It was a back-slide for the army side which finished third in 2009 in Kigali and 2011 in Bujumbura respectively.

In the opener, APR lost 26-29 to Burundi Defence Forces, 35-45 against Uganda People’s Defence Forces 28-32 to Tanzanian Defense Forces as well as 39-43 to hosts, Kenya.

The team’s poor show was attributed to inefficient preparations for the games according to APR handball club.

In a phone interview with Times Sport from Nairobi, captain Paul Claver Mukimbiri said, "Compared to our opponents, we did not train enough for the games and it think it is the main reason we lost all our matches.”

Today, hosts Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will face-off with  UPDF in the final match of the tournament and the winner will be crowned the champion. Both teams have won  all their matches against Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi respectively.
