Nyarugenge approves Rwf5m monthly support to Kiyovu

NYARUGENGE District has agreed to inject Rwf. 5 million monthly to the national football league side SC Kiyovu in the upcoming 2013/14 season, according to the club’s Secretary General Jean Marie Nsengiyumva. Nsengiyumva told Times Sport that both Kiyovu club and Nyarugenge district have reached an agreement and a memorandum of understanding has been signed to that effect. The agreement will see Nyarugenge dispatching a total of Rwf. 50 million for a period of ten months which cover the national football league season. "We sealed the agreement and hopefully, we will be able to convince other sponsors to come on board such that the club can get out of the financial crisis which affected the operation of the club last season,” said Nsengiyumva.Efforts to reach Nyarugenge district Mayor Solange Mukasonga for a reaction proved futile as she could not pick or return this Paper’s calls by press time. Nsengiyumva also confirmed that striker Julius Bakkabulindi and defender Juma Radju Niyonkuru who were reportedly signed by La Jeunesse have returned back to the club and have been offered two-year contracts.The Mumena-based team which is under the management of new coach Yaounde  Gilbert Kanyankole has also signed Yussuff Habimana from La Jeunesse and goalie Evaliste Mutuyimana from Police. The ‘Green Baggies’ which is the oldest football club in Rwanda is searching for its maiden league silverware since 1993.
