The Work force Development Authority, (WDA), has signed a memorandum of Understanding with three local artistes through Digital Media Group studio, with the aim of promoting public awareness on Technical and Vocational Education and Training  (TVET).The artistes who are involved in this deal are, James Ruhumuliza, better known by his stage name King James, Jeanne Butera, aka Knowless, and Josue Tuyishime, also known as Jay Polly.Among other activities, these local artistes through the Digital Media Group studio will produce a promotional song on TVET,  and standard weekly Hospitality and cooking series to be aired on Rwanda Television for a period of 12 months. Partnering with local artistes to propagate messages about TVET is another strategy WDA has undertaken. This is intended to attract the public, especially the youth, into vocational training as a driving force for economic transformation. In order to strengthen the delivery of technical skills in the Hospitality sector and, consequently, improve the quality of service delivery, WDA established a world class Hospitality Academy in Remera, Gasabo District. However, the outreach programmes upcountry are still critical since all hotels in the country cannot benefit from the academy. One of the initiatives to help address this challenge is the introduction of TV Hospitality series that will be professionally done and broadcast to a wider audience through the national television.Belinda Umurerwa, a representative of Digital Media Group studio, says "This plan is important since most people,  especially in hotel and restaurant business, do not have required skills in food preparation and other services needed by clients.”This programme will help provide viewers with knowledge on products and services offered in hotels and restaurants, healthy food production as well as the importance of cleanliness at the workplace among others.
