The DR Congo international is among new players who will be officially presented to club supporters at the annual Rayon Sports Day due Saturday, August 5, at Kigali Pele Stadium.

He was one of the key figures in Rayon’s 2023 Peace Cup success that earned them a ticket back to the CAF Confederation Cup after beating fierce rivals APR FC 1-0 in the final held on June 3 at Huye Stadium.

Luvumbu, 29, had his first spell at Rayon Sports in April 2021 where he spent just four months before heading to Angola's Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto for a one-year contract. He rejoined the club in December 2022 after he agreed to play for the club on a six-month deal.

The midfielder rose to fame in 2014 when he played for his hometown club AS Vita Club in DRC. He left in 2017 to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

In 2018, Luvumbu moved to Moroccan side AS FAR of Morocco, playing for the club until 2019 when he joined Club Athletic Youssoufia Berrechid.

He made his international football debut for DR Congo’s Les Léopards in 2014 and he was part of the team that won the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) held in Rwanda.
