Forty-two Rwandan refugees early this week repatriated from Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs (Midmar).The refugees repatriated following the implementation of the cessation clause on Rwandan refugees, which was invoked by the Uited Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) on June 30.Twenty-three of the returnees came from Uganda, while 19 repatriated from DR Congo.According to Frederic Ntawukuriryayo, the in charge of public relations at Midmar, the returnees from Uganda will be temporarily settled at Gatuna camp, while those from DR Congo are temporarily hosted in Nyagatare Camp in Rusizi District.Ntawukuriryayo said the returnees will only stay in the transit centres for a few days pending personal detail processing before they are sent off to their respective areas of residence.
