For instance, you indicate that NUR and KIST have dropped drastically, but you fail to inform us why this is the case.It is important for The New Times to report and investigate the story a little more. When the statistics are compiled, there are always reasons behind the best and worst rankings. In Rwanda, one of the reasons our education institutions are not performing well is because of poor international standards -- which are taken into account when ranking universities.For example, I was shocked to find out that university students in Rwanda "copy and paste” from the web when they’re completing assignments. This is plagiarism. In the developed world, it is an automatic misconduct that earns one a zero mark.We, therefore, need to start rectifying our universities to raise them to internationally recognised standards.
