This week is a special one for children between the ages of five and twelve. Christian Life Assembly, (CLA) a church based in Nyarutarama, is once again holding a kids’ extravaganza.

The programme which started on Tuesday, August 6, is usually held during the second term holidays every year and it brings together children fof all walks of life. Children who pray from different churches are encouraged to attend.

Registration is done one month before the programme. Up to 250 children can attend.

The kids are put in three groups, Green, Yellow and Blue. Registration fee is Rwf5000 per child.

This year’s extravaganza features several activities scheduled for the kids to participate and enjoy games which are bible oriented. These games are creatively used to teach the word of God to kids using plays and songs which have a Christian theme.

According to Gloria I. Anyango, an employee at CLA; the motive behind this annual programme is to give children an opportunity to have fun, play with each other and, most importantly, be introduced to the word of God at a tender age.

On the opening day, the kids were taught from Ephesians 6:13, which reads: "The truth should be your waist belt; righteousness should be your armor’. And they demonstrated this message using paper swords and armor.

On Sunday, August 13, which is the last day of the programme, the kids will present in front of the congregation whatever they have learnt throughout the seven days.

Christian Life Assembly is a cell based church which has different programmes for its members and nonmembers.
