Senior officers from East African Community defence forces have been urged to be vigilant and always exhibit discipline expected of them.The call, by Rwanda’s Defence minister, James Kabarebe,  was made yesterday during the official opening of a training course for 48 senior officers at Rwanda Defence Forces Command and Staff College, Nyakinama, in Musanze District.Thirty-eight of the 48 military senior officers are from RDF, while there are two participants from the Rwanda National Police and two military officers from each of the three EAC partner states of Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania.Leave no stone unturned The course aims at preparing senior officers for operational level command and staff responsibilities and it will give senior officers opportunity to share their experiences, organisers say."Display a high level of discipline and a strong sense of commitment,” Minister Kabarebe advised.  According to RDF Spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Joseph Nzabamwita, apart from military skills to be acquired, senior officers with bachelors’ degree will pass out with masters in security studies, while others will get diplomas in the same field. The course is being conducted in partnership with the National University of Rwanda.Major Ose Murego, from Burundi said the course will help them share experience.The course will be facilitated by instructors from RDF, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ghana.
