Private sector, universities urged to collaborate

The private sector and educational institutions should collaborate to ensure the country’s human resources have the right skills required by the market, Professor Musa Nyakora, the rector of Mount Kenya University, has advised.

The private sector and educational institutions should collaborate to ensure the country’s human resources have the right skills required by the market, Professor Musa Nyakora, the rector of Mount Kenya University, has advised.Nyakora added that institutional networking for corporate human resource services was key to ensure colleges and universities produce skilled labour force.He was speaking during a ceremony, where 18 Tigo workers were awarded MBAs at the Kigali Serena Hotel last week.Diego Camberos, the Tigo Rwanda boss, noted the country needed to move towards becoming a knowledge-based economy rather than a labour intensive one. The 18 Tigo workers pursued MBA courses at Mount Kenya University.
