Girls should learn to live on their own before getting married

Editor,Wake up girls, what century are you in? I hear the one who says it’s for economical reasons but the others are just being stuck in the ages. Of course a girl can live on her own and eventually get married. She will learn to manage herself at her own home before she gets married. It’s a great asset to the new home she creates.

What is it women want? Someone’s protection? Please! And then they go out crying... he gives me no independence. You make your bed, lie in it. Style up girls.Eva, Kigali, Rwanda****************************GIRLS AS well as boys need to cut the umbilical cord to gain maturity and independence. For economic reasons however, it’s obviously a better choice to stay home rather than wandering in indecent places. It’s ridiculous to say that a girl must stay under her parents roof till she gets married! What if she doesn’t marry? Doesn’t this mentality put pressure on girls obliging them to marry when and who? It’s awkward to learn that the same Rwanda with a Parliament with a female majority is the same Rwanda that seems reluctant to uproot this misconception.Umukobwa, Kigali, RwandaReactions to the story, "Sweet home: To leave or to live?
