AMAVUBI forward Meddie Kagere landed in South Africa on Tuesday to hold talks with Premier soccer league Bidvest Wits Football Club and Amazulu.

Speaking to Times Sport, Kagere said, "I arrived on Tuesday and I am looking forward to positive talks with some clubs [unidentified] before returning back for national team duties with Amavubi team.”

This is the second time that Kagere is being wanted by South African clubs. Last year, he did trials with Bidvest Wits FC but were reluctant to offer him any deal.

However, the club which signed Faty Papy from APR last season kept on monitoring the former SC Kiyovu and Mukura striker who had torrid time in Tunisia before returning back to Police in January this year.

After running out of contract with Police FC in June, Rayon Sports is also hoping to snatch the striker if the South Africa deal fails to go through.

The 26-year-old Amavubi international has spent three seasons at Police, scoring 38 goals in three Primus League seasons.

He has since become a regular for Amavubi and a talisman for Police, spearheading their good run and often delivering.

The former Atraco forward is the country’s top scorer in the on-going 2014 World Cup qualifiers with three goals in five matches played so far.

Kagere came into the lime-light when he guided Rwanda to the finals of the 2011 Cecafa Challenge Cup and went on to finish as joint-top scorer (five goals) at the tournament.

Bidvest Wits is currently having their pre-season camp in Cape Town under new coach Gavin Hunt while Amazulu who have been in Namibia for training camp is lodging in Johannesburg where they will play friendly matches against Bidvest Wits and Moroka Swallows.
