French Karate expert Dupeaux to visit Rwanda

RWANDA Karate Federation (Ferwaka) has confirmed the visit of Sensei Patrick Dupeaux, a Frenchman expert in Wado-Ryu, Karate.

RWANDA Karate Federation (Ferwaka) has confirmed the visit of Sensei Patrick Dupeaux, a Frenchman expert in Wado-Ryu, Karate. The six dan holder’s visit is scheduled for August 3-13.The Ferwafa’s technical director Guy Didier Rurangayire said yesterday that the 57-year old Frenchman’s one-week visit to Rwanda will conclude with practical examinations for Karate players who will be seeking to acquire new karate belts.Dupeaux has been a karate master since 1984 previously served as a physiotherapist in France national police, from 1992 to 2010. Currently, he is the vice-president of Wado-Ryu academy in France.Rurangayire said, "We are looking forward to learn a lot from Dupeaux. He is an experienced master and he will help equip us with new tactics of the game,”"We are doing everything possible to improve the level of the sport in the country and that’s why we are bringing such international experts to learn from,” added Rurangayire. The local karate federation is expecting over 100 karate men and women to take part in the one-week seminar. It will be Dupeaux’s first visit to Rwanda.
