The senior national team will start preparations on July 10 ahead of the qualifiers for the 2014 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship to be held in Poland.But the national volleyball governing body, FRVB has not named the team’s head coach. However, Chairman Gustave Nkurunziza said the coach will be known before the team starts training."We have to be careful with the decision to name the coach because we can’t give anyone to manage the professional players, but we hope we will make a  decision very soon,” the FRVB chairman told Times Sport.Rwanda will be looking to make the most of home advantage when they host the Sub-Zone and Zone 5 championship later this month and November respectively.The week-long Sub-Zone tournament is slated to run from July 23-29, attracting host Rwanda, Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt, who qualified automatically. And again in November, Rwanda will host the Zone V.The 2014 World Championship qualification will be another era for African volleyball after Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) granted the continent three places in the men’s category and two places in women’s group at the world biggest volleyball event.The CAVB decided during its meeting last November that the African Qualification will be played in three phases– sub-zonal, zonal and final phases.The new system of qualification secures a massive participation of more than 45 countries similar to the system of beach volleyball continental tournament which attracted the biggest number of national federations.All professional players including Qatar-based trio of Vincent Dusabimana, Placide Madison Sibomana and skipper Christophe Mukunzi Giba as well as Lawrence Yakan Guma, who plays in the Algerian league will participate.The young players that are likely to get a first nod in senior team due to their performance in national league include, GSOB right attacker Nelson Murangwa, APR’s Yves Mutabazi and Fred Musoni.Rwanda is ranked 122nd in the world for the men category and 103 for the women.
