Challengers win Computer Point T20 title

The 2013 Computer Point T20 tournament came to a climax on Sunday with the women and men’s finals, which were won by White Clouds and Challengers cricket clubs respectively.

The 2013 Computer Point T20 tournament came to a climax on Sunday with the women and men’s finals, which were won by White Clouds and Challengers cricket clubs respectively.White Clouds CC maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament as they overcame Queens of victory CC (QVCC) in the final.In the first innings, QVCC scored 116 runs all out and WCCC chased it down losing only three wickets. WCCC star player Veronique Iriho was the woman of match after hitting 41 runs and getting four wickets.In the afternoon, Challengers CC kept their winning streak after beating rivals Telugu CC in the men’s final. Challenger’s bowlers were on top of Telugu batsmen after they restricted them to a low score of 143 runs. CCC chased and won by seven wickets."It was an easy win for us,” said Challengers’ all-rounder Subashis Samal, who hit 41 runs and got 1 wicket and was named man of the match.The closing ceremony was graced by the Managing Director of the sponsors Computer Point Binu Thomas, who thanked the organisers, Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) for what he described as "a wonderful event” and promised to continue sponsoring the tournament next year.
