AS Muhanga sign striker Mudeyi from Mukura

This year’s Peace Cup finalists AS Muhanga have signed striker Suleiman Mudeyi from Huye-based Mukura Victory Sports in a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until end of 2015.

This year’s Peace Cup finalists AS Muhanga have signed striker Suleiman Mudeyi from Huye-based Mukura Victory Sports in a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until end of 2015.

The 21-year old forward, who spent three seasons in Mukura is a young brother of the famous Mudeyi family that also includes; Nazeri Mudeyi, Yves Mudeyi  Amon Mudeyi and Aquitte Mudeyi.

AS Muhanga head Coach Ali Bizimungu signed the youngster for Mukura three years ago as a raw talented teenager from school in Rubavu.

The attacker becomes the club’s first signing following the departure of Ernest Sugura, who signed for the 13-time league champions APR FC last week. 

The South Province-based AS Muhanga want to build a strong team based on young Rwandans same as other local league clubs. 

Coach Bizimungu admitted he is in advanced talks with five other youngsters that he selected from last week’s inter-schools’ finals which were held in Muhanga District.

"I know Mudeyi very well, he is a talented striker and I hope he’s a perfect singing for the team. We are also in advanced talks with some student-players, including one goalkeeper that we scouted from the just concluded inter-schools games,” the former Rayon Sports coach told Sunday Sport.
