APR strengthen squad with trio of signings

Record 13-time Rwandan league champions,, APR FC have beefed up their squad by signing three  new players ahead of the upcoming 2013/2014 season, which is scheduled to kick off in September.

Record 13-time Rwandan league champions,, APR FC have beefed up their squad by signing three  new players ahead of the upcoming 2013/2014 season, which is scheduled to kick off in September.According to the club spokesperson, George Gatete, the army side have signed winger Amavubi Stars’ Charles Tibingana Mwesigye from Victoria University, midfielder Ernest Sugira from AS Muhanga and the striker Michel Fils Ndahinduka from second division side Bugesera FC, all on two-year deals.Ndahinduka made history when he became first player from the second tier division to play for the national team Amavubi in the 0-1 home defeat against Algeria early this month.  The 22-year-old, finished as the top scorer in second division with 22 goals. "The club’s policy of using only young Rwandan players will not change and we believe these three players will add strength to the team in the upcoming season,” Gatete told Times Sport by phone on Tuesday. "These three players fit the club’s bill so well, they are young, Rwanda and highly skilled, who will be expected to fight for places on the first team, which can only be good for the club."Another good thing that they will be willing to learn more and improve their career. We hope they will boost the club’s ambition of winning silverware in the upcoming season,” he added.
