Defending champion APR VC maintain top spot

Defending champions APR went to the top of the national volleyball league table standing after winning their two Group One matches in Nyanza on Sunday. The Army team maintained their lead after beating Rusumo High School and Lycee de Nyanza 3-0 and 3-1 respectively, while in the same group, Rusumo HS beat hosts Lycee de Nyanza 3-1.

The Army team maintained their lead after beating Rusumo High School and Lycee de Nyanza 3-0 and 3-1 respectively, while in the same group, Rusumo HS beat hosts Lycee de Nyanza 3-1.In Group, Three National University of Rwanda beat Saint Joseph Kabgayi and neighbours Groupe Scolaire Officiel de Butare (GSOB) 3-0 and 3-2 respectively, while hosts GSOB eased to a 3-0 victory over Saint Joseph Kabgayi. This year’s Memorial tournament winners and league debutants INATEK on their home court beat Kigali volleyball club (KVC) and Nyanza-based Christ Roi 3-0 respectively to move into second place. Former champions KVC took revenge on Christ Roi beating them 3-0. As it stands and with one round of matches left, holders APR lead the table with 38 points, six points ahead of INATEK, who have played one less match and third-placed NUR, who have two matches in hand. Christ Roi sits bottom of the nine-team table with 13 points.
