Seven clubs withdraw from Genocide Memorial Tourney

Seven teams have withdrawn from this year’s Genocide Memorial Tournament set for this weekend at Amahoro indoor stadium.They include; Tanzania duo Jeshi (women and men), GSU and Administration Police Kenya (Kenya), Lycée de Nyanza women and men from Rwanda, and Garde Présidentielles from Congo Brazzaville.The clubs which have been confirmed to take part in the competition include five teams from Rwanda namely; APR, National University of Rwanda, INATEK, National U19 team and Kigali Volleyball Club who will compete in the men’s category.Others are Uganda’s Kampala Amateur Volleyball club, Sky and Nemo Stars, Kampala City Council, Nkumba University Sport S, Rukizo, Muzinga, and Bujumbura Uwezo wa Ndani, all foreign teams.The women category will attract home teams like APR, Rwanda Revenue Authority, Ruhango women Volleyball Club. Uganda’s Kampala City Council, Kampala Amateur Volleyball club, and Ndejje University, and Les As from Burundi, Kenya Pipeline and Nairobi Water [Kenya] will spice up the women category.The technical team was meant to meet yesterday by press time to decide on the draws and fixtures for today’s matches.
