RUBAVU and Kamonyi Districts are the winners of the fifth edition of the 2013 Copa Coca Cola tournament. The tournament ended over the weekend in the Western Province town of Rubavu. In boys’ category, Rubavu district which was represented by Anglican secondary school defeated title holders Nyarugenge which was represented by Group Scholaire Akumunigo 2-1 in the final. Bienvenue Mugenzi and Bonheur Hategekimana scored the crucial goals for Rubavu while Jean Pierre Manirimbere scored the consolation goal for Nyarugenge. In girls’ category, holders Kamonyi retained the title despite being beaten 2-1 by Bugesera. Bugesera were disqualified after being found guilty of fielding an overage player. As part of punishments, Rutsiro secured Bugesera’s first runners-up spot with Bugesera being made to finish fourth behind third placed Ruhango.Anglican secondary school were given cash prize worth Rwf 500,000 from tournament sponsors Bralirwa through the Coca-Cola soft Drink.
