ICC U-17 East African boys tournament

Today
Kenya    v   Rwanda   (Kyambogo)
Uganda  v   Tanzania  (Logogo)

Rwanda’s U-17 cricketers are up for a stuning test at the on-going ICC/ACA U-17 East African boys’ tournament this morning as they take on Kenya at Kyambogo oval.

The first-timers should approach today’s game with a lot more confidence after yesterday’s satisfactory show against hosts and pre-tournament favourites Uganda.

By press time, Rwanda who chose to bat first after winning the toss, were 79/2 in 30 overs and going by Emma Byiringiro (team manager)’s remarks at the time, the team was playing good cricket.

"The Ugandan team has an array of stars that have played at ICC related competitions in the past so putting up a fight like ours is no small feat,” Byiringiro reckoned before adding, " Kenya is Uganda’s major challengers but we shall give them a good run for their money tomorrow (today)”.

Rwanda is set to play Kenya this morning at Kyambogo grounds before winding up their preliminary campaign with a tie against Tanzania.

The four-day tournament, which is being played under the auspices of ICC and the African body got under-way yesterday and will wind-up on Friday with a final between the top two sides.
