Making it hard to divorce is not the solution to irreconcilable marital issues

However, if a spouse fears cruelty, bad treatment and harassment from their partner or has evidence to prove infidelity, the affected spouse ought to be allowed to quit after a three-month counseling period.If also divorce is by mutual consent, it should be allowed. Making it harder to divorce can cause mental problems and might lead to suicide or murder. And when you talk to the neighbours, you would learn that the family had been living in conflicts and endless problems for so long.People should not be stopped by the law if they want to live the life they wish. After all, were they forced or coerced to live together? If that’s not the case, then they should be allowed to untie the knot as soon as they see it fit if they no longer want to live together, instead of practically pushing them to commit unthinkable crimes that we have been witnessing lately.For me, as couples go to Umurenge for marriage, that’s the road they should turn to anytime they need to divorce.
