The Kingdom of Light

Every King has a kingdom—the land and people he rules over. He usually lives in a palace with a lot of servants and treasure. The people of his kingdom are called his subjects and should respect, honor and obey him.

The Lord God, the King of kings has a kingdom too. It is not a kingdom with lands and palaces. Instead His kingdom is in the hearts of those who believe on Jesus as their Lord and savior.

It is called the Kingdom of God (Luke 17:21) and the Kingdom of Light (Col 1:12). The Bible says "God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.”(1 John 1:5) That means God is perfectly good without any sin. People from all parts of the world can be subjects of God’s kingdom.

When the King of kings created His kingdom there were only two people, Adam and Eve. They loved and obeyed God. Every evening the King came to walk in the garden He made for them. God talked with them. It was a Perfect Kingdom.

What do you think God’s Perfect Kingdom was like? There were no weeds, storms, sicknesses, death or evil of any kind. Even the animals were not wild!
