Manchester United icon Andy Cole has lauded Rwandan wonderkid Noam Emeran and believes he can go far in his career if he can keep his current form in club’s preseason.

Emeran scored a goal on his Manchester United senior debut as they defeated Leeds United 2-0 last week in a preseason friendly in Oslo, Norway.

Cole, who netted 121 goals in 275 games and was instrumental as the Red Devils’ treble glory in 1999, heaped praise on Emeran’s impressive performance in Leeds victory.

"The boy who got the first goal against Leeds, Emeran. His energy, the way he got the ball and ran at people. He was just positive, mentally,” the former England international told the club website on Monday.

Emeran, 20, is expected to be integrated fully into the senior team and he could play a key role in the coming season in manager Erik Ten Hag team.

The Rwandan youngster has progressed from the Manchester United U16 all the way to the U21 which plays in the Premier League 2.

He scored four goals in 12 games for Manchester United U21 during the 2022/23 season.

After shining during Leeds friendly, Ten Hag could give the youngster more playing time when the club takes on Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday at BT Murrayfield Stadium Football, Edinburgh in Scotland.
