Young people believe that taking drugs makes some them feel good, grown up, look cool, have fun, forget their troubles and relax.
Other young people think that drugs will relieve boredom, ease pain and also make people feel independent. Children and teens often learn how to take drugs from the peer groups they hang out with.
Taking drugs is not healthy for both teens and children. If a child is discovered taking drugs, parents are in a better position to help the child leave the habit.
Encouraging children to join extra curricular activities keeps them busy so that they do not take drugs.
Activities like sports, music lessons, and community service are some of the after-school activities that can occupy children. This will make them not join bad groups.
Children who find it hard to stop taking drugs can be taken for professional counseling where they are taught the bad effects of taking drugs.
