Sudan to host 2013 Cecafa/Kagame Cup

The 2013 Kagame Cup will be held in Sudan from June 18 through July 2, the Council for Eastern and Central African Football Association (Cecafa) has confirmed.

The 2013 Kagame Cup will be held in Sudan from June 18 through July 2, the Council for Eastern and Central African Football Association (Cecafa) has confirmed.Cecafa awarded Sudan the rights to host the Kagame Club Championships after Ethiopia, the initial designated hosts, indicated it wanted it."Kindly note that we are finalising with arrangements to stage the above tournament in Sudan from June."Because of logistical reasons, we would like to get confirmation that you will be available for the whole duration of the competition. We need this confirmation as soon as possible,” reads a statement from Cecafa to all member states.However, the championships could still be postponed if Ferwafa’s request to move the games to a later date should Rwanda’s representatives APR reach the final of the Peace Cup competition due on July 4 (Liberation Day), is granted. "It would not be possible for them to compete in Kagame Cup and also in the Peace Cup at the same time,” Ferwafa boss Celestin Ntagungira told this paper.Tanzanian side Young Africans are the two-time defending champions.
