Editor, I wholeheartedly thank Miss Rwanda (Aurore Kayibanda Mutesi) and Rwandan artistes for their loving and caring hearts in paying tribute to the innocent victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. However, the Government of Rwanda should educate the citizens in a major public awareness campaign, about their country’s history because it would help shape a bright future. And for any country to develop, its workforce, or the public, must be familiar with the factual knowledge about its past. There is a need for Rwanda to embrace "public archeology” in schools, and to the general public to go an extra mile to cover a wider perspective of the social, political, historical and cultural trends about the past. Thank you.David Nkusi, Nyanza, RwandaReaction to the story, "Miss Rwanda, artistes honour youth Genocide victims”, (The New Times, April 16)
