Over 150 Rwandans and friends of Rwanda in Ottawa and Gatineau region in Canada on Sunday paid tribute to Genocide victims. On the same day, the City of Toronto proclaimed April 7 the "Day of Reflection on the Genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda” in remembrance of the suffering of the victims and the courage of the survivors.

The commemoration event started with a Remembrance Walk from the Canadian Parliament hill to Ottawa City Hall. Edda Mukabagwiza, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Canada, said the commemoration offered a chance to examine what caused the tragedy and innumerable consequences of its aftermath on Rwandans and their country.”
