Gaby Kamanzi launches her debut album

Irene Gaby Kamanzi’s dreams are unfolding right before her eyes as the launch of her first album, Ungirira Neza, was officially launched at Kigali Serena hotel on Sunday, March 31.Clad in stunning blue and gold traditional attire, the soprano gospel artiste sang her heart out at her album launch concert dubbed; "Gaby Kamanzi live concert.”The album includes 11 singles, written in Kinyarwanda, French and English.The audience chanted and danced along as the talented gospel artiste belted out her famous praise and worship songs, like Ungirira Neza, Neema ya Goligota, Il est Vivant, Wowe Muremyi, You Are All I need and Amahoro, among others. The show was like an Easter gift for her Christian fans, who were celebrating the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday. The concert attracted both young and old gospel music fans.  Judo Kanobano, the Managing Director of Positive Production and Moriah Entertainment, the organisers of the concert said that they had no particular targeted audience when they organised the concert. He said, "We were targeting everyone who loves music both the Christians and non-Christians. That is because Gaby wants to establish herself as a professional musician.”  As one of the best vocalist and most popular gospel artiste in the country, Kanobano was not surprised that the concert attracted more people than they expected. He said they had arranged for 800 people; however, as time went on after the show started, the number of people coming for the concert increased. The conference room was over filled that some people watched from the outside. The stage was well lit and well designed adding colour to the concert. The bands that played didn’t disappoint. The show ended at midnight with Kamanzi thanking her fans for coming for her first concert and supporting her.The launch of the album featured a very strong line-up of praise and worship, performances by Moriah band, Aimé Uwimana, Marlene and famous Burundian gospel musicians Apollinaire Habonimana and Fortran.The album was also for sale at the event.
