Police coach Goran Kuponovic has told Times Sport he doesn’t think he will lose his job even if the team doesn’t win anything this season. The Serb, whose current contract runs out in July, has been at the club for three years but without any title—his best record is reaching the Peace Cup final and finishing second in the league last season hence taking the club to their first appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.Last season, Goran labeled himself a "special coach” and Police Fc, a "special team”, and now he claims "Goran never loses his job”.Police blew the chance to leapfrog leaders Rayon Sport at the top of Primus National Football League after they both played out a 1-all draw on Sunday.Striker Meddie Kagere put the Cops side in the lead after the 39 minutes, putting to use Peter Kagabo’s well measured cross but Rayon responded with purpose and had a volley from Burundian import Cedric Amissi put them on level with five minutes to recess. However, Goran is confident he will get a new deal when his current one expires on July 21. He said "In my career I have never been sacked and I don’t think I will (be sacked) even if we don’t win the league, but that decision is for my bosses to make.”Goran joined Police in 2010, and transformed the club from a mid table outfit to become APR’s main rivals, "I am happy with my work in this team, we’re united and very familiar with each other. Don’t forget we are still in the building process.” "My focus is to build a strong team capable of winning trophies consistently. I tried my best to have good a team and now I think we are. Nonetheless, if I am out of Rwanda, I will have another job somewhere else,” the Serb told Times Sport. On his team’s chances of winning the league, Goran said, "We’re still in the race and we’ll keep pushing until the very end and see how the season ends.”After Sunday’s match, striker Kagere insisted, "I am confident we can win the league. We need to win our remaining games and see what will happen.”Rayon Sport leads the Primus league tablewith 42 points; one ahead of Police with six matches remaining.Reigning champion APR and Mukura continue both tie in third position with 35 points, seven points behind the leaders.
