APR volleyball club is happy following their brilliant start to this year’s national volleyball league which got underway over the weekend.The youthful squad which is comprised of new faces beat Kigali Volleyball Club 3-0 and six-time volleyball league champions St Joseph 3-0 respectively.APR’s senior player Mathieu Rwanyonga lauded the performance of his colleagues, adding APR is set to shine this season."The two matches proved a lot to us. We are a strong team comprised of young Rwandan players,”"Players are hungry for good performances and this is why we managed to win two matches on a single day. They are determined and play a collective game to win,”"If we continue to stage such performances, I believe we will start thinking about silverware,” added Rwanyonga.APR has been boosted with recent signings who include; Barrack Rugira, Yves Mutabazi, Fabrice Nkezabahizi and Bonnie Mutabazi.In other games played over the weekend; Groupe Scolaire de Butare thrashed Lycee de Nyanza 3-2; Lycee de Nyanza beat Christ Roi 3-0 while Groupe Scolaire de Butare trounced Christ Roi 3-0.INATEK surprised eight-time league winners National University of Rwanda to a 3-0 win and a 3-1 win over Rusumo High School. NUR snatched a 3-2 win over Rusomo high school in another match.
