Team for the Girls’ Youth African Champs named

YOUTH NATIONAL volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok has named the team for this year’s Africa Youth CAVB Championships scheduled from March 25-30, in Egypt.The last event of the age group African Nations championships, will take place in Cairo Stadium Complex.Rwanda qualified after all countries of Zone V withdrew from the CAVB Zone V qualifiers, which had been scheduled to be held in January in Kigali.Bitok, who is also in charge of the boy’s junior team that has just qualified for the world championships after finishing third at the CAVB African Championships in Tunisia, admits that finishing in the top three will be a dream achievement for his girls.The competition serves as a qualifier for the FIVB Youth Girls’ World Championship, which will be held in Thailand later this year. Players born after January 1, 1996 are eligible to participate in this competition. The top teams in women’s volleyball will be participating in this competition, including defending champions Egypt, last year’s runners-up Algeria, Tunisia, Rwanda and Kenya.The team left the country on Monday vie Kenya from where they will connect to Egypt on Thursday.Full team:Dimitri Muhimpundu, Nasira Uwamahoro, Olive Mutamba, Delphine Uwikeza, Leah Uwimbabazi, Pascaline Mukashyaka, Belse Irakoze, Loreth Higiro, Marie Grace Niyigena, Holthance Zaninka, Denise Impanoyima and Seraphine Mukantambara.
