As a musician, he has been active on the Rwandan music scene, staging various gigs and in the process sharing the limelight with his fellow local artistes and regional greats like Eddy Kenzo, Jackie Chandiru and Radio and Weasel among others.Khizz, a songwriter and composer, has been writing and composing songs since his childhood. The Afro-Pop/ R&B singer started singing at the age of seven in church and wrote his first song, Kiza igihugu cyacu when he was just twelve. Currently, the singer, real name Kizito Hategekimana, has a number of songs to his name and is working on his debut 12-track album which will be released this year. The title of the album and the date for the launch will be communicated soon.  Describing his early years and his passion for music, Khizz said, "I have loved music from my childhood. I wanted to become a great musician and inspire young people to pursue their dreams.”He added that his family also played a major role in supporting him hence making his dream real."My parents, especially my mother, have always supported me and encouraged me to pursue a career in music and I am so grateful.”A significant aspect of his music career has earned him respect from his fellow musicians and fans. Khizz has worked closely with several local musicians, such as, Uncle Austin, Jay Polly, Dream Boys and Tom Close.The 24-year-old musician famous for songs like, Ifoto and Niwe ntawundi emerged the winner in the Best New Artiste category at the 2011 Salax Awards. Khizz also works in sales and marketing at USAID. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). He intends to place his experience at the disposal of anyone who wants to improve their music skills.
