The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Rosemary Mbabazi, has challenged the youth in Rubavu district to work hard and seek solutions to the country’s problems.Mbabazi, who was presiding over the launch of the ‘Students on the Field’ week in the Western Province district at the weekend, said the youth should not wait on government to solve every problem they face, but instead take up the initiative. The initiative was organised by the Forum of Rwandan Higher Institutions of Learning Students.Addressing hundreds of youth, including students from Rubavu-based universities, Mbabazi said, "The youth should work hand-in-hand with local leaders to solve problems in society.”Daniel Komezusenge, the president of the students’ forum, said the week-long activities will help identify what the youth desire and help them work toward building a good future. The district mayor, Hassan Bahame, pledged to continue supporting activities initiated by the youth in the area.
