Kagame to speak at University of Hartford, USA

President Paul Kagame is today expected to address over 500 students at the University of Hartford Maurice Greenberg Centre for Judaic Studies, where the university is launching its Genocide and Holocaust Education Initiative.

President Paul Kagame is today expected to address over 500 students at the University of Hartford Maurice Greenberg Centre for Judaic Studies, where the university is launching its Genocide and Holocaust Education Initiative.The President earlier on yesterday, met with Harvard President Drew Gilpin Faust and discussed,  among other matters, additional opportunities for educational partnerships, according to a statement from the President’s Office.He was also expected to share ‘Rwanda’s ongoing journey to socio-economic change’ with students at the Harvard Business School, who have spent the semester studying a course entitled "Rwanda: National Economic Transformation.”Taught by Professor Michael Porter, a leading expert on competitive strategy and competitiveness and economic development of nations, "Rwanda: National Economic Transformation,” course chronicles Rwanda’s economy from the 13th Century through the colonial times and independence to the current economic situation.

Professor Michael Porter is a member of President Kagame’s Presidential Advisory Council. This was the second visit by President Kagame to Professor Porter’s class, since his last visit in 2011.
