A building block that houses the former office of Kinyarwanda newspaper Imvaho Nshya was gutted by fire Tuesday, July 11.

The publication's office is located at the Expo Grounds in Gikondo Sector, Kicukiro District, where the annual trade fair takes place.

The New Times understands that the fire left minimal damage thanks to rapid intervention by the Rwanda National Police (RNP)&039;s Fire and Rescue Brigade.

RNP's three fire trucks were seen at the scene with a presence of multiple officers. The cause of the fire outbreak is not yet clear.

A source at Imvaho Nshya said the publication's main operations have for several days now been relocated to Remera in Gasabo District.

It is not clear if all the publication's operations have been relocated to Remera.

The news of the fire outbreak at the former Imvaho Nshya offices followed that of another fire that gutted woodwork workshops in the early hours of Tuesday in Zindiro, Kimironko sector in Gasabo District.

The Kimironko fire is said to have damaged properties worth at least Rwf200 million.
