The new National Bank of Rwanda governor, John Rwangombwa, has officially taken over office. While handing over the instruments of power, Ambassador Claver Gatete, the former governor and new Minister of Finance, said Rwangombwa would take the bank to the next level, noting that he had indicated the projects and areas that need a lot of attention for the new office bearer. "The new governor understands well the areas of concern…and he is not a person you will regret working with,” Gatete said."The interesting thing is that the entire staff here is familiar, which will ease my work and, of course, I come with my experience from the finance ministry in handling monetary issues,” Rwangombwa said.He said with teamwork, the central bank would succeed in fulfilling its responsibility of maintaining the monetary policy and inflation.
