Rwanda beat Sierra Leone to boost hopes

Rwanda junior national team (U21) boosted their hopes of making the last four with a 3-0 win over Serra Leone in the third match of group A at the 2013 Africa Junior Volleyball Championships played yesterday in Tunisia.After losing their second match against favourites Tunisia on Sunday, Rwanda brought their campaign back on track with a three-set win over the West African team that has lost all their three group matches.Paul Bitok’s team won 25-19, 25-10 and 25-15 respectively to set a tantalising final group game clash with Algeria tomorrow. Algeria were beaten 3-0 by Tunisia on Monday. The winner of that contest will join Tunisia into the semi-finals.In their opening match, Rwanda beat Congo Brazzaville 3-1, (25-17, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-15) and lost to Tunisia 3-0 in the second match.A win for Rwanda against Algeria will not only take them to the semi finals but also to the World Junior Championships scheduled from August 22 to September 1 in Turkey.In group B, Democratic Republic of Congo thrashed South Africa 3-0, while Morocco beat Libya 0-3.
